Ingredients:
  • Old-Fashioned Grits: 1 cup
  • Whole Milk or Water: 2 cups
  • Unsalted Butter, optional: 2 tablespoons (optional)
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon or to taste
  • Chives, chopped: 1 tablespoon
Directions:

Bring milk and water (or as needed for desired consistency) to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Whisk the grits into the warm liquid, then return it all to the stove. Continue whisking occasionally while gradually heating through until they thicken.
