Ingredients:
- Pumpkin Seeds: 1/2 cup
- Peanuts: 1/2 cup
- Almonds: 1/4 cup
- Walnuts: 1/4 cup
- Chocolate Skins (from unsweetened chocolate): 2 ounces, finely chopped
- Dried Ancho Chile: 4-6 pieces
- Guajillo Chile: 3-5 pieces
- Cinnamon Stick: 1 piece
- Bay Leaf: 2 leaves
- Allspice Berries (Pumpkin seeds): 4-6 berries, crushed
- Cloves: 8 pieces
- Ancho Powdered Chocolate (optional):
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons plus extra for rolling meatballs and tamales
Directions:
Rinse the dried chilies under cold running water, remove seeds if desired.
Toast the nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat until lightly browned. Cool slightly and roughly grind into small pieces.
