Sugar: 3/4 cup plus additional for soaking and coating the fruit
Water: 1 1/2 cups
Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
Salt (optional): A pinch
Directions:
Rinse the pomace cherries and remove any stems or leaves.
In a large pot, combine sugar with enough water to fully submerge the fruit. Bring it to boil over medium-high heat, stirring until all of the granules are dissolved.
