Ingredients:
- Masa dough: 2 cups
- Pork or chicken filling: 3 cups cooked and shredded (or chopped)
- Salt to taste:
- Corn husks, soaked in warm water for 30 minutes: about a dozen
Directions:
Prepare masa dough by mixing cornmeal with lard or shortening until it forms into a ball.
While the dough rests, prepare your filling and heat to steaming temperature before assembling tamales.
