Servings: 6
Ingredients:
  • Warm Water: 1 cup
  • Active Dry Yeast: 2 teaspoons
  • All-Purpose Flour: 3 cups plus 2 tablespoons extra for dusting the surface
  • Sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil: 3 tablespoons plus a little extra for dusting the surface and pan
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon, adjust to taste
Directions:

In a small bowl combine warm water (about 110Β°F), yeast and sugar. Let stand until mixture becomes frothyβ€”5-7 minutes.

Place the flour in a large mixing bowl, make a well into center of it with your fist or spoon then pour in wet ingredients along with oil (reserve some for dusting). Using hands mix till all come together. If dough is sticky add extra flour by tablespoons at time until you can form the ball.

Place on a well-floured surface and knead into smooth, elastic doughβ€”about 10 minutes (you might need to use your fist here). Place in an oiled bowl or container with lid. Let rise till doubled β€” about one hour at room temperature.
