Black Bean Burger

Ingredients:
  • Dried black beans: 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Ground cumin: 1 ½ teaspoons
  • Garlic cloves, minced: 3-4 pieces
  • Smoked paprika: 2 teaspoons
  • Salt and black pepper to taste:
  • Burger buns or lettuce leaves for serving: 4 pieces (or as needed)
Directions:

Soak the dried black beans overnight in plenty of water.

Drain and rinse the soaked black beans. Transfer them to a blender or food processor with turmeric, cumin, garlic cloves, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Pulse until completely smooth (about 3-5 minutes). If too thick for your preference, you can add more water as needed.

Divide the black bean mixture into four equal portions. Form each portion into a patty shape using wet hands to prevent sticking. Press down lightly with fingers or back of spoon.

Heat grill pan over medium heat and cook patties for about 4 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Serve on buns (or lettuce leaves if opted out) as desired.
