Ingredients:
  • Spaghetti Pasta: 1 pound
  • Salted Water: 4 quarts
  • Ground Beef: 1/2 pound
  • Onion: 1, finely chopped
  • Garlic Cloves: 3-4, minced
  • Canned Tomatoes: 28 ounces, crushed
  • Tomato Paste: 1 can (6 ounces), optional for extra flavor
  • Basil Leaves: 1/2 cup, chopped fresh or dried to taste
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste
Directions:

Cook spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions until al dente.

While pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and brown thoroughly, breaking apart with the back of your wooden spoon (or fork). Drain excess fat from meat after browning if necessary.
