Servings: 4
Ingredients:
  • All-purpose flour: 1.5 cups
  • Granulated sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Unsalted butter, melted: 3 tablespoons
  • Whole milk: 1 cup
  • Large eggs: 2
Directions:

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and add melted butter, milk and eggs.

Mix until smooth batter forms without overmixing (batter will be slightly lumpy). Let stand for about 5 minutes to allow flour mixture to soak into liquid

this helps waffles get extra crispy around the outside edges once cooked on a hot iron. If desired, during this rest period you can flip halfway through.

Grease your preheated waffle iron using some of batter or non-stick spray (this will help ensure easy release after baking). Pour enough batter into the center to cover bottom surface evenly without overfilling it, then close lid and cook until steam rises from large holes on topβ€”usually about 3 minutes.

Flip each waffle using a fork or spatula when done. Continue with remaining batter for additional servings.
