Ingredients:
- Pears: 4 large
- Sugar: 1 cup plus extra for sprinkling on top
- Butter: 5 tablespoons, cubed
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups plus extra for dusting the pan
- Vanilla extract: 1 teasll, optional but recommended
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Meanwhile grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet with some of the cubed butter. Sprinkle an even layer of sugar over the bottom, forming it into a ring shape.
Peel and halve your pears after cutting them through their cores to create wedges.
